The grace of consecrated life among the world

On 9 December 2020, Servitium Christi has reached 10th anniversary of its up-grading status from Diocesan to Pontifical Right. “This was a long laborious journey, and its successful conclusion ten years ago was a cause of great joy”, was the message of Mary Keane, General Directress of Servitium Christi sent to all its members, she continues, “Let us thank God once again for this blessing, and for all the blessings bestowed on us in the past ten years, and ask Him to bless our journey into the years ahead, and to make it fruitful”. Marking this significant event, there were two joyful celebrations took place.

The first one was the consecration-celebration of Servitium Christi in Dong-Nai Center, Vietnam. On 6 December 2020, six persons made their devotional commitments. Two of them dedicated themselves into the first incorporation and the other four perpetually incorporated into Servitium Christi. The Eucharistic Celebration took place in a solemn, holy and warm atmosphere at Hai Duong Parish Church, Ho-Nai, one of the parishes run by the Blessed Sacrament religious. Along with Fr. Nguyen Thanh Quang sss, spiritual director of this Center, there were around 30 priests, religious from other Congregations, and more than 300 guests, relatives and friends joined this celebration.

The second celebration was the celebration of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, at the Provincial Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation in Saigon City, Vietnam on 8 December 2020. There too five persons dedicated themselves into the first incorporation of Servitium Christi at Saigon Center and three other members into perpetual incorporation. Fr. Vietnam Servitium Christi 29 12 2020

Inspired by the Eucharistic love and the Eucharistic spirituality of St. Peter Julian Eymard, these courageous sisters respond to the invitation of the Lord to follow the path of the love of Jesus in the world by becoming a Bread broken to share with all the people around.

We pray that through the intercessions of Virgin Mary of Immaculate Conception and St. Peter Julian Eymard, may these members be faithful to their vocation and become Eucharistic women for the world as their Rule of Life n° 3 states:

“The members are women living in the world, dedicated to seek the perfection of charity in the service of God’s Kingdom, for the honour of God, the building up of the Church and the salvation of the world, according to the spirituality of Saint Peter Julian Eymard. […]

In response to God’s love and vocation, animated and nourished by the gift of the Eucharist, members are bonded by vows and living in communion, to bring Christ’s presence into the world, attentive to the needs of the human family.”
