Priestly Ordinations and the 50th anniversary celebration in the Parish of the Holy Spirit, Mpaka

The Region of Cardinal Émile Biayenda had the distinct honour of celebrating two major events this June: priestly ordinations and the fiftieth anniversary celebration of the Holy Spirit Parish of Mpaka in Pointe Noire.

Pointe 1Thus, on 8 June 2025, Fathers Borjalvin Dalbertone Sila, Ceti Césaire Bansimba, and Crisvel Guelor Koukouikila were ordained priests by His Excellency Monsignor Abel Liluala, Metropolitan Archbishop of Pointe Noire, in the presence of Monsignor Miguel Angel Olaverri, Emeritus Archbishop of Pointe Noire, Father Jean De Dieu Passy, Regional Superior, Father Hubert Alone, Treasurer of the Blessed Isidore Bakanja Province, numerous SSS confreres, other priests coming from various places, and many male and female religious…

This was a celebration of great importance, punctuated by three significant moments:

First, it was a great occasion of  thanksgiving. Concretely, the parish was joyfully celebrating  its 50th anniversary and 20 years of the presence of the Religious of the Blessed Sacrament being in charge. Moreover, linked with this jubilee, the ordination of our three confreres crowned everything.

So, the parish grasped this occasion to reflect on its history, in which there have been a great number of vocations, namely more than a dozen priests up to the present, among whom are the three from the Region.

Finally, the Archbishop saw this as a favourable and very valuable time for the local church of Pointe Noire. Indeed, he praised the work and involvement of the Region in promoting the influence of his archdiocese, especially through the active participation of confreres in the various services provided: diocesan chaplaincies, youth and vocation pastoral work...

Yes! The festivity was beautiful. Our three newly ordained confreres received His Holiness Pope Leo XIV’s Apostolic Blessing from the hands of the Archbishop of Pointe Noire.

May Mary, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, ever intercede for them so that they may remain good servants in the Lord’s harvest.
