Celebration of the 5th Regional Chapter

From March 1 to 8, 2026, the Cardinal Emile Biayenda Region (Congo-Cameroon) was in the joy of celebrating its 5th Regional Chapter. With the participation of 25 capitulars, the event was honored by the presence of two distinguished guests, namely: Father Philip Benzy Romician, sss, Superior General and Father Anaclet Bambala Mazina, sss, Vicar General in charge of Africa.

This important celebration was marked, during the opening Mass, by the presidency of His Excellency Monsignor Bienvenu Manamika Bafouakouhou, Metropolitan Archbishop of Brazzaville. The Archbishop, after recalling the importance of a chapter in his homily, insisted on his closeness to the Congregation, because he aspired to us during his first steps of his vocational journey. He specified that he was not dismissed. However, his departure was caused by the fact that he did not feel willing to live internationality.

The die being cast, the work of this 5th Chapter took place around the theme: Starting again from the Cenacle to reclaim our Eucharistic mission. Indeed, faced with such an inspiring and inspired theme, the reflections carried out were up to the task of responding to the two essential and substantial aspects of the “becoming a Province” of the Region, namely: personnel administration and financial administration.

Thus, on the 5th day, the capitulars proceeded to elect a new leadership team of the Region through voting, which gave the following:

Regional Superior: Father Jean-Jacques NKODIA sss
1st Consultor and Vicar: Father Rodolphe MBOYA MATONA sss
2nd Consultor and Secretary: Father Frédéric MALANDA sss
3rd Consultor and Treasurer: Father Emerlin MBONGO sss

This is the new team, which through the authority of the Chapter has received the mandate to lead and indeed to preside over the future of the Region.
